Validation

Run quality checks across your project data and work through the issues.

Manage checks your project data against a library of validation rules - catching depth, spatial, date, completeness and other problems before they reach a client. Validation is a Pro feature.

A Pro feature

The validation indicator and results are available on the Pro plan; on Go they are not shown.

Run validation

The validation indicator sits at the foot of the table panel in the table editor. Click Validate to run the checks against the project. The indicator shows the last run - All clear, or counts of issues to look at - and marks results as stale when the data changes after a run.

The results

Open the results to see issues grouped and filtered by category:

Each issue carries a severity - error, warning or info - and a count of the records it affects. Expand a rule to see each affected record, with its location, depth and table, so you can jump straight to the fix.

Which rules run

The rules that run, and whether each is active, come from your configuration, managed in Product OS. Validation is also surfaced on the map as map advisors.

Made ground checks

The Made ground checks can be turned on or off per configuration in Product OS. Most apply only where the stratum is made ground - by legend code or description - though the two terminology checks (vague odours, and the term "cinders") apply to any description, since neither issue is confined to made ground. Like all validation, they are advisory - engineering judgment takes priority.
