Editing records
Add, edit, bulk-update and delete records, and the field types you enter.
There are a few ways to change data in the table editor, depending on what you are doing and your plan.
Add a record
Click New row to open the row editor - a form with every field for the table, grouped by category. Fill it in and save. The row editor is available on all plans (with the right permission).
Edit a record
Select a single row and click Edit to reopen it in the row editor with its values.
Edit cells in the grid
On Pro, you can edit directly in the grid: double-click a cell (or press Enter) to edit it, Escape to cancel, and the arrow keys to move between cells. Each field type has its own editor:
| Type | Editor |
|---|---|
| Text, ID | Text box |
| Decimal / number | Numeric input |
| List | Pick from the field's list |
| Unit | Value with a unit selector |
| Boolean | Yes / no |
| Date, Time, Date and time | Calendar / clock pickers |
| Degrees, minutes, seconds | DMS input |
| Location / parent relation | Link the record to a location or parent record |
Editing on Go
Inline cell editing is a Pro feature. On Go you still add and edit records through the row editor (New row and Edit) - you just edit one record at a time in the form rather than directly in the grid.
Bulk update
On Pro, select several rows and choose Bulk update to set one or more fields across all of them at once - pick a field, set a value (or clear it), and apply.
Delete
Select one or more rows and choose Delete. Manage asks you to confirm first.
Create a location group
With rows selected, Create location group turns the selected rows' locations into a named location group you can reuse for filtering and reporting.
