Views on the map
Draw a table's data on the map as coloured markers, a heatmap, bubbles, labels or contours, with a key.
A view is a saved selection of a table's rows: its filters, sort and columns. On the map, a view draws those rows at their locations, so you can see SPT N values across a site, where made ground is deepest, or which holes exceed a screening level.
A Pro feature
Views on the map are a Pro feature.
Adding a view to the map
Open Views in the map's side panel. Your project and configuration views are listed there, the same views as in the table editor. Switch a view on to draw it, or create a new one from the panel and set its table and filters there. Several views can be on at once.
Styles
Each view has five styles. Switch on the ones you want, in any combination.
- Markers - colour and shape each location by rules on its data. Rules can use fields from the view's table or the tables above it, and the first rule that matches wins. From a field builds the rules for you, from a field's values or from ranges.
- Heatmap - a coloured surface of a value, estimated between the holes on fixed bands whose edges and colours you can set. If the holes were tested to very different depths, the heatmap says so and offers to read them all over one range.
- Bubbles - circles sized by a value, by area, on a scale fixed with the view.
- Labels - the reading beside each location, as recorded, with its depth, a prefix or a unit if you want them.
- Contours - lines through a value at a chosen interval, labelled along each line.
Contours
Contours draw a stratum from the logged geology, or any numeric value.
Pick what to contour
Choose a Stratum and a Measure: its top or base depth, its thickness, or its top or base level.
Check which holes are used
The panel accounts for every hole: used, counted as 0 m, or left out and why (for example, a hole that stopped in the stratum, so its base is not proven).
Choose a method
TIN (the default), IDW or Kriging. Kriging shows its variogram, and every number in it can be changed.
Turn on Colour between the lines to fill the bands. A hole far out of line with its neighbours is named, so a data error is not drawn as a real feature. Contours need three holes or more with a value.
The key
The key in the bottom right of the map explains what each switched-on view draws: its marker rules, heatmap bands, bubble sizes and contour lines. It only shows what was actually drawn. Open a view's row to see its key, or fold the whole key away with -.
Site plans exported from the map carry the same keys in their legend block, under the location types.
