The Insight interface

Insight has a simple, consistent layout: a top navigation bar across the whole app, and within the Explorer a left sidebar, a toolbar and the data grid. This page is a reference for each area and what it does.

Top navigation#

The bar at the top of every page switches between Insight's areas.

Item	What it does
Explorer	Browse project data in a grid. This is the main area.
Testing	Company-wide testing schedules and chain of custody.
Analytics	In development - shown as Coming soon.
Map	In development - shown as Coming soon.

The account menu on the right is where you switch theme and sign out.

The Explorer#

The Explorer is split into three parts.

Sidebar#

Element	What it does
Configuration switcher	Choose which configuration's tables to browse. Only appears when your company has more than one configuration.
Search	Filter the table list by name.
Tables list	Every table in the configuration, each with a live record count. Empty tables are dimmed. Select one to load its data.

Toolbar#

Element	What it does
Projects	Filter the grid to one or more projects. See Filtering by project.
Geology	Overlay geological descriptions onto the rows. Only appears when the data supports it. See The geology overlay.
CSV / JSON	Export the current view. Only appear if you have export access. See Exporting data.

Data grid#

The grid shows the selected table's records. Project ID and Project Name come first, then the table's columns in their configured order. You can resize columns, and page through results with Previous and Next. See Exploring data for how to read it.

Testing#

The Testing area is a single read-only overview: summary tiles, lab activity, and two tabs - Schedules and Chain of custody - each a searchable table. See Testing.
