Exploring data
Pick a configuration and table, read the grid, and page through your project data.
The Explorer is where you read your data. Pick a table from the sidebar and its records load into a grid - already enriched with the related details you would otherwise have to look up by hand.
Pick a configuration
If your company has more than one configuration, choose one from the switcher at the top of the sidebar. Its tables fill the list below. With a single configuration, this is chosen for you.
Choose a table
The sidebar lists every table in the configuration, each with a live record count so you can see where the data is. Search by name to narrow the list, then select a table to load it. Empty tables are dimmed.
Read the grid
The grid shows the table's records:
- Project ID and Project Name come first, so you always know which project a row belongs to.
- The table's own columns follow, in their configured order. Key and required fields are highlighted.
- Inherited columns from a parent or related table appear too, with the source table noted in the header. See inherited columns.
- Values are formatted for display - dates, decimals, units and so on - matching how they read elsewhere in GIMLabs.
Drag a column border to resize it.
Everything is read-only
You can select and copy values, but nothing in the grid edits your data. To change records, use Manage.
Page through results
Insight loads records a page at a time - 500 rows per page. Use Previous and Next below the grid to move through them. The total record count is shown so you know how much data the table holds.
