Projects and locations
Create and manage projects, then add the locations you will log against.
Before you log anything you need a project and, within it, a location. Both can be created right on the device.
Projects
The Projects screen lists your work. Use All or Me to filter, and Search to find a project by ID or name. Long lists page in with Load more.
Create or edit a project
Open the form
Tap Add (+) to create a project, or a project's menu then Edit to change one.
Fill in the details
Enter the Project ID, Project Name and Configuration (all required), and optionally a Client. When editing, you can also set the Status.
Save
Tap the tick to save. Creating or editing a project needs an internet connection.
Project IDs are unique
Each project needs its own ID - Log will warn you if an ID is already in use.
Project actions
A project's menu also offers:
- View locations - open the project to work on its locations.
- Share - send the project's data out as a file.
- Unsync - remove the project's data from this device (it stays in the cloud). Handy for freeing up space once a job is done.
A project shows a status - Open, Closed or Archived - and a cloud indicator for its sync state.
Locations
Open a project to see its Locations - the boreholes, trial pits and monitoring points you are logging. Use Search to find one and Refresh to update the list.
Create or edit a location
Open the form
Tap Add (+) to create a location, or a location's menu then Edit.
Name it and pick collections
Enter the Location name and choose the Collections it uses (for example trial pitting or monitoring). The collections you pick decide which tables and fields appear when you log.
Save
Tap the tick to save. The location appears in the list, ready to log against.
A location shows its status (Open or Closed) and the collections it uses. A new location starts Open; when you Edit a location you can also set its Collection Status. Its menu offers View records, Share, Edit and Delete.
