# Exporting PDF logs

> Export borehole and trial pit logs as PDF for selected locations.

You produce **PDF logs** - the borehole and trial pit logs for a project's
locations - from the table editor, by selecting the locations you want and
exporting them.

## Export logs

    Tick the rows you want. From the **Locations** table you pick locations
    directly; from a child table, Manage resolves each row's location for you.

    From the toolbar choose **Export PDF** to render each location's log using the
    project's defaults, or **Custom PDF export** to choose how they render.

## Custom PDF export

**Custom PDF export** builds the logs your way:

- **By log template** - render every selected location with one chosen template.
- **By set** - use a predefined set from your configuration (for example an
  *Engineer Set* or *Driller Set*).

For templates that support it, you can also pick a **depth mode** - metres per page
or a scale.

  **Export PDF** uses the log and depth set for each location type in
  [export preferences](/manage/table-editor/export-preferences), plus any
  per-location override. PDF logs are rendered in the cloud, so exporting needs an
  internet connection.
