# Sign in and access

> Sign in to Manage, and understand seats, roles and what Go and Pro include.

Manage is a web app, so there is nothing to install - you open it in your browser
and sign in with your GIMLabs account. As the core web app, it is included on both
**Go** and **Pro**.

## Requirements

- A modern web browser.
- A **GIMLabs account** at a company with an active subscription, and a **seat**
  on your company's plan.
- The right **role permissions** for what you need to do (see
[Roles and permissions](#roles-and-permissions)). If something is missing, your
  company administrator manages access.

## Signing in

Go to [manage.gimlabs.io](https://manage.gimlabs.io) and sign in with your GIMLabs
email and password - the page reads **"Sign in using your GIMLabs account."** You
land on your **Projects** list.

## Seats and sessions

Your access comes from your company's **subscription** (Go or Pro). Each active
user takes a **seat** under that plan - the same seat that covers the other
GIMLabs products you use, not a Manage-only licence.

## Roles and permissions

What you can see and do in Manage is set by your **role**. Roles control both
which areas appear in a project (the table editor, imports, exports, Connect and so
on) and which actions you can take (creating projects, editing data, inviting
client contacts). Administrators manage roles in
[Product OS](https://os.gimlabs.io).

<Callout type="note" title="Missing an area or button?">
If a project area or action is not there, it is almost always your role. Ask
your administrator to grant the permission. See [Troubleshooting](/manage/troubleshooting).
</Callout>

## Go and Pro

Manage runs on both plans. **Pro** unlocks the heavier data-work features:

- **inline cell editing** and **bulk update** in the table editor,
- **saved views**, and **multi-column** filtering and sorting,
- the **data validator**,
- the advanced **map** layers (site boundaries, overlays, historical and WMS
layers, measuring, annotations and map export).

Everything else - browsing data, the row editor, single-column filter and sort,
**imports and exports** (AGS and CSV), the lab workflow, media, diary, flags,
location groups and standards - is available on **Go** too, subject to your role.

## Signing out

Use the account menu to sign out. Your session ends and you return to the sign-in
page.
