# Media

> Browse and manage the photos and documents attached to a project.

The **Media** gallery holds the photos and documents attached to a project - site
photos, trial pit faces, samples and supporting files - captured in the field or
uploaded here.

## Browse

Media shows as a grid of thumbnails, with a file icon for documents. Each item
shows its **category**, **tags**, and the **table** or **location** it is attached
to. **Search** by name, or filter by **category** or **tag**, and click an item to
open its details.

## Upload

Use **Upload** to add photos or documents to the project.

## Link to a location

In a file's details, **Assigned to** shows what the file is linked to, with a line
underneath saying where it shows - for example "Linked to BH03, and shows with that
location's media". Pick a location to link it, or choose **Unlink** so the file
belongs to the project as a whole. Press **Save** to apply the change.

## Lab paperwork

Files attached to a [testing schedule](/manage/lab-workflow/testing-schedules#files)
or [chain of custody](/manage/lab-workflow/chain-of-custody#files) also show here,
with a **Schedule** or **CoC** tag and the record's reference. They are filed under
your **Lab testing** category when your company has one. These files are not shown
to clients in Connect.
