# Location groups

> Organise locations into named groups for filtering and reporting.

A **location group** is a named set of locations - *North site*, *Phase 2*, the
boreholes for one report - that you can reuse to filter and organise a project.

## Create a group

Choose **New group**, give it a name, and select its **locations**. The list shows
each group with its name and location count; **edit** or **archive** a group from
its menu.

## Where groups are used

- Filter the [table editor](/manage/table-editor/filtering-sorting-views) to a
  group, so every table shows just those locations.
- Pick a group when collecting in
  [Calc](https://www.gimlabs.io/platform/calc) or exporting.
