# Filtering by project

> Narrow the Explorer grid to one or more projects.

By default the grid shows records from every project in the configuration. The
**project filter** narrows that to the projects you care about.

## Filtering

    Click **Projects** in the toolbar.

  <Step title="Find projects">
    Search by project name or ID. Results appear as you type.
  </Step>
  <Step title="Select projects">
    Tick one or more projects. The grid updates to show only their records, and
    the **Projects** button shows how many you have selected.
  </Step>

## Clearing the filter

Open the filter again and untick a project to remove it, or choose **Clear all**
to go back to showing every project.

  The project filter applies to whichever table you view, and Insight remembers
  it as you switch tables - so you can compare the same projects across tables
  without re-selecting them. Choosing a different configuration clears it.
