# Constants

> Stamp project values onto template cells that fill in on Collect.

Constants are project values - **Project Name**, **Client**, **Contractor**,
**Status**, dates and the like - that you place onto template cells. When the
template is collected, each cell fills in automatically from the project, so
title blocks and headers are always correct without retyping.

## Placing a constant

    In Design mode, click **Constants** on the Build group. You see the project
    values available and any already placed.

    Choose **place** next to a value, then click the template cell where it
    should go. The picker reopens with the placement recorded.

## Moving and removing

For any placed constant you can:

- **Relocate** it to a different cell, or
- **Remove** it so the cell no longer fills in.

## On Collect

Placed constants fill from the selected project's metadata each time the
template is collected. If you collect a different project with the same
template, the same cells fill with that project's values instead.
